Little Big Foot

Today it was confirmed...we are having a "healthy" sized baby...lol. Baby Turnbull-Black is doing great! Measuring a whopping (estimated) 5lbs 3oz's. The little foot you see on the left is being tugged at by wondering little fingers. (Daddy likes to play with his toes too!) Foot measurement is 6.5 cm's...long, big feet and chubby, just what a mom wants to hear!!

Catching up on "Little" details!!

Well, here is little Potato's first debut. With only 54 (ish) more days to go as a squatter in my tummy, little Potato is making great strides. At this week's OB appointment, it was determined that everything is right on track!! Baby Turnbull-Black is achieving a gold medal in Bladder Kick and a close silver in the Rib Punch. A very strong little athlete who is very excited about an upcoming birthday!!

The first picture is our 12 week ultrasound, barely a plum. The second picture, (and video if I can figure it out), is the 20 week ultrasound. We will be getting some updated pictures this Friday when we go for the 32 week peek!!

Look forward to sharing updates as they come along!!

Seven Layer Salad

Dooms day for the Turkey's and Food Day for the Humans!! Another year to be thankful for Turkey's not having opposable thumbs or this could be a whole different story! We were joined by some new and extended family from Prince George, Deb and Pat came to join the funny farm for an afternoon of food, fun and great conversation. We also had another welcome addition to this years feast. Seven Layer Salad!! A big hit with everyone! (I can't believe you forgot the water chestnuts!!!) Cindy, you are officially relieved from bringing buns for next year, and we have dug out the official recipe!! We also drew names for Christmas this year...only 74 more shopping days till Christmas!!!

Grama's Seven Layer Salad
In bottom of a straight sided bowl, fill 1/4 full with choped head lettuce. Then layer about 1/4 cup chopped celery, 1/4 cup chopped onion (red or green), 1 can sliced water chestnuts, 1 cup frozen peas and a sprinkle of sugar. Cover peas with mayonaise (1 cup) then add sliced hard boiled eggs, chopped cooked bacon and grated cheese. You can vary according to suit your taste. Enjoy!!

Winter?

Each year, the inevitable happens...even though you are warned and suspend disbelief for as long as possible, that first snow flake hits your peripheral and the boots and scarves come out. This year, however, I am a bit more in to winter because this year, the snow will bring me a lot more than just my fashionable mittens. This year I get to showcase some tiny new mittens!! Still not sure if they are going to be pink skulls or blue ones, but baby Turnbull-Black will be sporting some serious cool gear!
