Welcome to 2012!!

Ok, so, life with two children leaves me about enough time to shower twice per week and scrape together some "outdoor" clothes everyday, and I have definitely missed my blogging time. This is my feeble attempt to get back at it...

Our year has been one wonder after another and we are finally here in the land of the "tremendous" twos!! Grace has been a continued delight and loves her little brother to the moon and back. She has taken to reading and play-doh as well as mastering the art of hide and seek. Her skills impress us daily as she has a keen eye to detail, (interpret: when one little thing is different than it was the time before). She loves to tell stories that all start with "Once upon a time, there was a princess, she lived in a pink castle..." That being said, I can no longer avoid it, she is totally in to pink and dresses and sparkles, all that I am not, lol. We will ride it out though...

Mason has also been a delight, he is a happy and healthy and damn cute! This week he sprung his first tooth ... and I cried! It is so hard to let go of that gummy little baby smile, but we are thrilled that he is coming along and proud of all his achievements, of course.

In other news, we have bought a house!! Moving day is fast approaching and packing and cleaning with two small children really is a full time job. I don't know how it could be done if I was working, so thankful for being on Maternity leave...seriously, so grateful.

Anyway, happy spring to you all, hope you can reconnect with us through our blog, we love to hear from you and see your families growing and glowing!!

Spring Fling

This month we celebrated Grampa Black's birthday, Grace got to hang out with her big sister and her cousins as well as Uncle James, Auntie Heather and Uncle Jon.

I have not been very good at keeping this blog up lately, but I am going to try a little harder! I go back to work on Monday, but not for long. I will be going on Maternity leave again this summer, some time around July 24th. That's right, we are expecting! Baby no. 2 has been nick named Tomato, to keep with the whole vegetable theme, *(remember Grace was Potato), as my sister cannot say "it" and we are not finding out the gender this time either.

Well, we can't say much about the weather except that we do live in the prairies and March is always one of the snowiest months...So, we are trying to make the best of the warmer temps even with all the white stuff. Grace and her Dad have started a daily ritual of gearing up and playing in the yard when Daddy gets home from work every day. Grace has realized that there is a whole big world out that front door! Her daily routine now starts with, "Boots, out?" She really is a go getter.

Stay warm out there and Happy 3rd Day of Spring to you all!! Drop us a line and say hey if you can! We would love to hear what you have been up to!

New Year Stuff

Well, it has been very busy so far this year, there is a lot to report since our last blog entry!! Grace has turned one! We had such an amazing day with family and friends, she was definitely a super star at her party!! She even really blew out her candle! Quite something our little girl!!
And, for the best present of all?? Grace got two new cousins on her birthday!! Hudson Bella and Liam James came into the world December 13th, 2010! Both very happy and healthy, we have loved sneaking cuddles with these two little angels!

Grace and her dad have been enjoying the nice weather by spending time sledding. I must say that she has quite the need for speed, not afraid to go fast at all. Mommy on the other hand can barely watch, we need crash helmets for sure!!

We are loving the nice weather and have been trying to make the best of it, we hope you are too! Keep checking in when you have a sec, it is great to hear from you all!! Love us chickens!

Well, that time of year is upon us...Grace's first Birthday! Ha ha, bet you thought I was gonna say Xmas! We have decided that the tree and decorations won't be up until after Grace's big day, advice from other friends who have children with birthdays close to the holidays.

Speaking of holidays, Grace and I went to see Santa last week and I must say she was a trooper, no tears, but it was close. I think she asked Santa for her two front teeth because that seems to be what she is getting!! A lump of coal would have felt better!

We are getting VERY excited for the arrival of Grace's cousins. Any day now is the word on the street!! YAY!

Well, happy shopping, parking, and waiting in line to you all!!

Moving right along...

Well, Grace has decided to try out walking, and she is pretty good at it so far! Each time she struts her new skill, I seem to be too busy freaking out to get the camera ready in time and it starts recording as soon as she is on her bum...however, stay tuned for a video soon!! We have had a very busy last few weeks...mommy went back to work and Grace has had some wonderful times with her Auntie Connie and Nanny Sue. The transition has been a little easier than originally thought but I still miss her terribly during the day.

For her first halloween, Grace dressed up as a very sweet and adorable lady bug. No trick or treating this year, but she loved going to the door and giving out candy.

We are getting ready to welcome Grace's new cousins in December. The stork should be dropping them of on the 9th, so we are very excited for their arrival!! Hard to believe Grace is coming up to one year old, it is just disgusting how fast the time has slipped through all our fingers. I hope you are all doing well and look forward to hearing from you all over the holidays!!

My new walking machine...look out!!

Well, up until tonight, she just wanted to put stuff in it but now she wants to take it places! Enjoy a little diaper dash!! I am so not ready for this!

We missed a month!!

Grace is now nine months old!! She is such a little character these days, mimicking laughter, playing patty-cake, and yes, she is STANDING all by herself! (Sorry for the cleavage...) Here is a quick snap from dinner lastnight, more updates soon!
